Sibelco, an important player in the extraction and refinement of sand and minerals, has started the roll-out of the standard Objective weighbridge solution of De Clercq Solutions at its production and distribution sites in the United Kingdom.

The Objective weighbridge solution manages the complete logistic flow of the delivery of the right products to the right customers. These deliveries are based on the orders from the ERP system in combination with quality data from the LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System). The weighbridge solution can be used at manned as well as at unmanned sites (where the truck drivers can check in/register, weigh, load and check out themselves).

Objective controls the whole loading and shipping process, from the trucks’ arrival to the departure. After the truck’s registration, it is assigned to the right ERP order. Following that the truck is weighed emptyand directed to the right loading platform. There the truck is verified again and loaded in a controlled way. After the final weighing, the truck is ready to leave the site, with the necessary transport documents that are generated by the Objective application. Objective also feeds back the information to the ERP system for administrative and financial processing. This way, Sibelco can guarantee a quick and accurate delivery to its customers.

After the earlier implementations on the Sibelco sites in the Benelux (Dessel, Heerlen, Lommel, Maasmechelen and Mettet), the roll-out of this solution to the Sibelco sites in the UK has begun.

The first site, Congleton in Cheshire (40 km south of Manchester), went live on July 8th.
