Bonar Technical Fabrics optimises quality control and production with Objective.MES

30/06/2010

In its headquarters in Zele (Belgium), Bonar technical Fabrics has recently successfully introduced the Objective.MES solution for the quality control and the final processing of its products.

Bonar Technical Fabrics N.V. (Bonar TF) is a division of LOW & BONAR plc. This international stocklisted group quoted is specialised in technical textiles and has a broad collection of woven and non-woven fabrics (coated or not coated), artificial grass and fibres for the concrete industry. Bonar TF itself is specialised in the production of high tensile strength polypropylene fibres, woven and non-woven geotextiles, agrotextiles and technical textiles for industrial applications. The application possibilities for the Bonar TF products are quite diverse and include amongst others agriculture, horticulture, seabank, coastal and riverbank protection, filtering and drainage, soil stabilisation, rail maintenance and renewal, protection of pipelines, packaging, fibres for the reinforcement and crack-resistance of concrete, etc.

Apart from its headquarters in Zele, Bonar TF has a site in Lokeren where the cloths are woven. The weaving mill delivers the cloths on rolls to the factory in Zele, where these are inspected and then processed to end products. This whole process – that used to be executed manually based on paper orders – is now fully monitored and controlled by Objective.MES.
