On June 10th and 15th, De Clercq Solutions organised an in-house seminar in Wichelen and a company visit to the frozen food company Crop’s at Ooigem. The theme that linked both events was “Integration of production and logistics”.
Apparently that theme seems to interest a great deal of companies. In just a few days, both events were fully booked and a number of the candidates even had to be referred to a later session.
During the in-house seminar on June 10th, the seamless integration between the Objective.WMS and MES solutions was shown during a live demonstration. The scenario demonstrated how Objective streamlines and controls the whole logistics and production cycle: from the reception and storage of raw materials, the supply to production (production logistics), throughout the whole production process up to the storage in the finished products warehouse and shipment to the customer.
On June 15th, the participants to the company visit could see with their own eyes how this integration works in real life at the frozen food company Crop’s. After an introductory presentation, an enlightening guided tour through the company was made, with the competent assistance of the people responsible for production, logistics and IT. The 40 degree temperature difference between the outside temperature and the temperature of -20°C in the frozen food warehouse added to the special “ambiente” of the tour.
It turned out to be an interesting experience for all participants and afterwards they stayed on to discuss the Crop’s implementation over a glass of wine. Software may often seem intangible, the company visit to Crop’s showed those present that the Objective software delivers tangible results.
