This year the Flemish League against Cancer (‘Kom op tegen Kanker’) organises ‘The 1.000 km of Kom op tegen Kanker’ for the first time. A tribute to the battle cancer patients have to their utmost to win day after day. De Clercq Solutions was inspired as a company to try and show an equal amount of bravery for this action.
Cancer patients often have a long and winding road ahead of themselves, both physically and mentally. They are challenged time and again to go to the limit and beyond. An extraordinary performance that is certainly worthy of being honoured/honouring. The Flemish League against Cancer ‘Kom op tegen Kanker’ therefore organises the sports event ‘The 1.000 km of Kom op tegen Kanker’, as a tribute and also a dare: how much funding can be raised for cancer investigation.
A Flemish trial of strength without equal
During the extended Ascension weekend (Thursday 13 – Sunday 20 May 2010) the participating teams will cycle 1.000 km through five Flemish provinces. In other words four cycle routes of 250 km. Each team consists of minimum one person and maximum four. The event starts in Ostend, passes through Louvain, Ghent and Hasselt, and ends in Antwerp. To be allowed to participate, the teams have to raise 5.000 euros as a start fee.
De Clercq Solutions For Life
In 2009 De Clercq Solutions sponsored ‘De Rode Lopers’ during the Roparun for ‘Kom op tegen Kanker’. This year however, we wanted to make a more active contribution in the battle against cancer. We immediately felt drawn to this initiative and the team ‘De Clercq Solutions for Life’ was born. As a result it could happen that our team passes you halfway through May. It will be quite an undertaking but in the words of Sven Nys: “250 km a day is no child’s play. But neither is winning from cancer.”
If you want to support our team, please transfer a donation to account 733-1999999-83 of ‘Kom op tegen Kanker’ with "170-007-544 gift" as statement. Moreover, donations from 30 euros are tax-deductible, you will receive a tax certificate from Kom op tegen Kanker.
