De Clercq Solutions has recently started at Univeg and Kaasimport Jan Dupont to realize electronic shipping notes on a crate level.

In the first phase every pallet will be labeled with an SSCC code (Serial Shipping Container Code). This enables the traceability of every pallet.

When goods are shipped, an EDI message (DESADV of Despatch Advice) will be sent that states the SSCC code and the contents of the pallet.

In the second phase the details on crate level will be sent to the client and special crates will be used, each with a GRAI code (Global Returnable Asset Identifier), a unique number that can be read through bar code scanning and through RFID. This second phase will have to be realized by 09/09/09.
