Atos Worldline

Atos Worldline, formerly known as Banksys, is the Belgian specialist in end-to-end secure payment systems. They enjoy worldwide recognition for the developing of electronic payment terminals, payment applications, and security modules for international markets.

Considering the complexity of the physical transactions, a highly modernized warehouse is a must for a company like Banksys. That is why, in 2004, their management chose De Clercq Solutions for implementing Objective.LES.

The wish for a Logistics Execution System was fed by the need for flexibility, operational necessity and automation. The plan was to integrate a system with Oracle as center, but with a professional framework to add all the necessary functionalities.

De Clercq Solutions provided flexibility by separating the warehouse in three levels: sub inventories, locators and containers, each one able to contain various product items.

We also created a loading dock, which gives the advantage of inspection before stocking (and thus not yet a financial impact) and a better communication towards clients regarding delivery times. In order to ensure an optimal rotation of the containers and the stock, we configured specific rules to define the picking order.

The main reasons for choosing Objective were the high scores in the analysis of functionality, ease of use, technical integration and total cost of ownership. Specific added features are the understanding of the complex working of serial numbering (e.g. keeping track of the original product) and the minimum-maximum planning of so called ‘blue boxes’ of field technicians. With one multifunctional operator dialogue, Banksys is now able to keep track of every incoming and outgoing movement to any kind of client. In other words: “the system is adapted to the process and the people, not the other way around.”

Immediate Return On Investment:

  • Diminished use of paperFaultless registration
  • More efficient working process, implemented with a minimum of training period (1/2 day)
  • According to Ricardo Medeiros, Head of Logistic Services, “the implementation of the bar coding system realized an immediate, significant work force profit”
  • And last but not least, ”Objective realized a vast increase of stock accuracy, with a resulting difference very close to zero.” The inventory count can be done by item, container, …, warehouse, and this in half the time as before and without stopping the production process.
